The dearth of honest discussion on certain issues is a consistent black mark on the O.

Their consistentcy of being on the wrong side of so many important issues has me considering cancelling my measly Sunday subscription and just do WW and the Trib.

Sad to say that the main local newspaper has this problem. I was just at the JTTF public hearing and it was pretty interesting to listen to the testimony from the ACLU. They just got information back from the govt. on their FOIA requests. They said at least nine of the organizations they represent have been spied on through the JTTF program. I'll be putting up a post in the am on the hearing.

I'm sure ACLU Oregon will be posting updates on their site.

She fails to mention the very premise upon which Potter was voted into office -- his committment to Citizen input on public policy. His devotion to protecting every citizens safety and civil liberties. She fails to neglect to honor the fact that we have the great fortune to have as a Mayor, a man that doesnt spout such things as mere campaign rhetoric -- she fails to recognize that he is a man of his word upholding his sworn oath.

She fails to neglect to honor the fact

should read: She fails in neglecting to honor the fact ...

(the hearing and public testimonies have made me an insomniac that can no longer think straight!)

Guess there will be a bit more "talk", but if I had to bet...I'D bet on the FBI over the ACLU to stop the next terror attack.

Jack-

Together the FBI and CIA had enough information to prevent 9/11. Remember within hours after the buildings fell there was so much information about the hijackers, where they came from, when they had been in Afghanistan, who had spent time in Germany, etc. How do you think they had all that information? Did they just suddenly pull it out of their butts?

Fact is, they had it and they failed to connect the dots. Now the Feds are just making the haystack larger and more difficult to sort through to find the real needle. By infiltrating peace groups, religious groups, environmental groups, union activists, etc, they are only wasting precious time and money that could be spent fixing pre-9/11 problems that points to the Feds inability to connect the dots.

Why do you think the Bush administration tried to put the kabosh on the 9/11 Commission to begin with?

For cryin' out loud, Jack!

Mitchell also resorts to name calling in her column, which is very unbecoming of a journalist. She accuses Potter of being a "control freak" and claims he is untrusting of his colleagues.

But when the RepubliNazis go back home and their ugly wives do the same thing, it is torture. But then, a RepubliNazi woman is cruel and unusual punishment anywhere anytime.

AND OF COURSE "NAME CALLING" is only one-sided!

Sid
