Sorry to leave this so late, but I just read your post.

Near the end of his rather mindless article, Reinhard asks

"Will Republicans who may oppose the views of a Democratic president's nominee feel free to filibuster? Let's hope not..."

Um, yes. And they should! That's the beautiful part of our Democratic Republic: if you disagree with something, you are allowed, no, duty-bound to oppose it! Or, at least that used to be....
